Mingalaba,
and today we made our way to Pindaya to the Pilgrim Cave. We drove the first 11 km with the Tuk Tuk, unfortunately it was quite uncomfortable and since it was still 50 km away, we switched to a private taxi, which was of course much more comfortable and above all faster.
Arriving in Pindaya, we went straight to the cave. Here, in this pilgrimage site, we could have visited many more temples, but our goal was the cave on a recommendation.
And when we entered it, it almost blew us away (if we had worn any socks). One seriously wonders who came up with the idea of placing at least 8000 small and large Buddha figures in a cave. And sometimes it looks like they grew out of the rock. Absolutely stunning!
Since our trekking tour was still taking its toll on us, we decided to leave it at that and return to Nyaung Shwe. It was definitely worth coming here just for the cave.
The next day, we took it easy and strolled around Nyaung Shwe, at the market, at the pier...
In the evening, we enjoyed a really good Thai massage. Unfortunately, we had to take the night bus to Yangon, and once again we were lucky to get the oldest bus that operates this route. We arrived in Yangon in the early morning, got taken directly to the airport, and said goodbye with a heavy heart to Myanmar. We landed in Bangkok and took the city bus to the Victoria Monument, where we quickly found a mini bus that took us to Trat within 5 hours
