21.02.2023 from Innes NP to The Gap campsite

It is stormy early in the morning, we leave the campsite to have breakfast at a better spot, but the wind ruins everything. We quickly have breakfast and continue to the first hike, 4 km are announced and we always walk against the wind to the lookout. The large grey kangaroos lurk in the bushes, skillfully jumping over them. It is very windy at the cliff edge, and we carefully hike further to a lookout, then we turn around and hike back the same way.

At the next sightseeing point, in the historic town from the 1930s, it has already become quite warm. We see the old plaster production factory facilities, the manager's houses, a bakery, and remnants of a school. The school also hosted dance events. Gentlemen had to wear a tie and ladies had to wear gloves only.

We continue heading north and try to book the Gap campsite. And we succeed, an absurd booking system allows us to book a spot on the peninsula, it doesn't matter where.

The Gap has vacancies, that's what we were hoping for. We go swimming and after dinner, we go back to the beach. Here we meet an Australian, alone with 2 dogs, who happens to celebrate his birthday today and invites us. We talk about subscriptions, world domination, and dog training.

We live in different worlds.
