Yesterday I set out on my own for the first time to drive to the next destination. I had to check myself whether all the buttons from the cupboards were in there, my sunglasses, my wallet and something to drink are in the front. I had my helpers for the last few weeks. And now I also had to back out of the parking space alone, how did I miss the “you have to go here, no, there” 🤣
So I went alone to Valencia about 360 km away. The ride was very nice. The navigation system did what it wanted and sent me somewhere to Wallachia. Driven 100 meters backwards because the road ended. Quickly let your mobile phone be routed to and via your mobile phone. The campsite is in the middle of an industrial area, is okay and is close to the city and metro.
Today, Saturday, I set out around noon to look at the city. It was totally warm about 35 degrees and muggy. I was just sweating. After 25 minutes I was in the city and what can I say. A very beautiful city with many old buildings. I walked around there a bit and later got on the hop on bus. What I didn't know, it drove 2 hours and I was totally hungry, not a good station wagon. I didn't even want to get off at the football stadium, that's saying something. After 6 hours of sightseeing I made my way back to the campsite. On the way there was a storm and when I got into the mobile home I experienced a nasty surprise. I had left the skylight open a crack and there was a huge wet spot on the bed. Great...
Conclusion: Valencia is a mega beautiful city and it is worth a visit. One of the top 5 cities I've seen in the last few weeks.
Tomorrow I'll continue to Barcelona, I'm looking forward to that. I've already booked a few highlights.
One more thing on my own behalf: I know things are not going well at home at the moment. There is a fine line between seeing great things & traveling and thinking about being at home. Try anyway. It also distracts me a bit, sometimes works well and sometimes not so well. In this sense…
