Today in the morning, we want to quickly take advantage of the North Sea wind and unpack our kite. On the beach, it's not so bad, even though Sammy is happy about every crash.
At noon, we pack up our monster again and make our way back to Thyborøn. There, we want to visit the local JyllandsAkvariet. We pet sharks and rays there and get to play with crabs. Even Samuel dares to do it.
After a short visit to the shop, which is almost as big as the exhibition, we quickly take a selfie with the life-sized sperm whale and line up for the ferry to Agger. Here, we have to cross the Thyborøn Canal, which is the only access to the North Sea from the fjords further inland. Surprisingly, there is still no bridge for this sea channel, which is only 1 km wide, even though the Danes are actually specialists in bridging waterways.
Unfortunately, we don't make it onto the ferry that just left, so we have to wait for about 40 minutes until we can board.
On the way, we make a detour to the Thy National Park, an attractive area right on the North Sea, which is interestingly very wooded, while the rest of the North Sea coast is mostly made up of sand and dunes.
We arrive in Nykøbing around 5pm, a small town on the island of Mors, and get a spot with a direct view of the fjord.
In the evening, we grab our bikes and go to a restaurant here for the first time. Ordering is interesting... Danish menu and the waitress hardly speaks English (we don't even bother trying German)... but actually a welcome change from the already discreet tourism of southwestern Denmark.
