Avignon

After a few more days in Spain, in Nunes am Meer, the weather got worse. So we checked the weather reports and decided to head north.
Yesterday we planned a long stage to Beziers and today to Avignon. But yesterday was very unfortunate:
Heavy rain and strong wind on the highway - traffic jam - detour - flooding in Beziers (the parking space was closed) - no alternative place in sight ....
So we drove to le Somail. This is a magical place on the Canal du Midi, where we have been with the boat twice before. Another 35 km in the dark .... But we arrived safely and spent a peaceful night.
Today we continued to Avignon, where we are staying on a campsite on an island opposite the old town. 20 minutes on foot to the old town or 5 minutes by bike. We will stay here for 2 or 3 nights and then choose the next destination based on the weather.

Hallo! 🙋♂️ Na, dann habt ihr ja mit dem Wetter nicht so ein Glück. Aber, wenn ihr immer wieder eine "Ecke" findet, an dem das Verweilen schön ist, und einige Sehenswürdigkeiten gibt, dann ist es doch gut. Wir hatten bisher einiges an Sonnentagen, gestern und vorgestern etwas trübe, und Regen, aber ab heute ist es wieder gut. Die Wetterfrösche sagen eine längere Sonnenperiode voraus. Mal sehen! Verena geht es so langsam wieder besser, und bei uns hat sich nichts verändert. Ich wünsche euch weiterhin gute Reise, und eine schöne Zeit!!! 🙋♂️🙋♀️🐈🐈
