19.08 Sollia - Fåvang on the mountain 66km

ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ: 21.08.2020

I took my time in the morning. The sun was already there when I started cycling at 11 o'clock. A change I immediately noticed, the wind was no longer at my back. I had it in my face from the beginning of the day. After 5km of comfortable uphill cycling, a 12% incline was added to the wind. The first 2 hours of the day were very tough, the kilometer counter was at about 20km. However, the view and landscape up top were fantastic. Mountains that I admired from below in the evening sun, I now felt at eye level with them. There were hardly any trees left and wide moorland. During my second breakfast, I also had a visit from the wilderness. After that, it continued tough with a lot of wind, even going slightly downhill required effort. Only the descent to Renigbu brought joy. It went down again by 12%, unfortunately also against the wind. When I arrived at the bottom, I used the break for shopping and route planning. The thought of climbing back up as high as this morning started. What and why are you even doing this? I didn't have a direct answer to that. An inner conflict began to occupy my mind in Ringebu. The compromise for me was not to ride too many kilometers and to always know the option of being able to use the fast route along the main road... crazy hour... I feel good physically, it's more the overwhelm of impressions, so I prefer to slow down a bit. So, on the saddle and up the mountains. I found a good spot up high at kilometer 66, where I had been on the road for almost 8 hours with breaks. I set up my camp, cooked something, and went to bed early.
