We set off early today because we had a lot planned! First, we got ourselves a moped. It was really cool. The guy asked us if we could ride it, and of course we said yes. So I told him that automatic transmission is not a problem for us, and voila, we got a moped with automatic transmission. When I asked how fast it goes, he said - 150 km/h -!!! What?! Okay, let's just ride and see. It was so much fun, although we didn't go faster than 60 km/h.
Our first destination were the 'Red Sand Dunes'! We reached them after about 6 km, and the ride on the scooter was so much fun. During the ride, we had to be careful not to run over any street dogs, goats, or cows. And whenever we passed another vehicle, we had to honk to let them know. We're becoming real experts when it comes to the traffic here :-)))))))))!!
So, back to the 'Red Sand Dunes' - they were gigantic! They suddenly appeared out of nowhere on the left side, and it felt like we were in the desert. Endless red sand dunes, it looked amazing. We climbed some dunes at 34 degrees and the view of the vast desert landscape was incredible. We could have rented some sliding mats, but the people trying to sell us those were so annoying and just wanted to rip off the tourists....terrible. We politely declined and walked instead.
Now we continued our ride on our rocket :-) Oh, I have to mention this. We borrowed two helmets from the moped rental, and I even disinfected them on the spot :-). After the first stop, Daniela said, 'my hair is itching - are there bugs on it'?... I laughed and said, 'no, everything is fine'!
We then headed to the 'White Sand Dunes', which were over 30 km away from the resort. Before reaching them, we had to refuel and this is the worst part. A young man filled up the scooter, and a woman kept tampering with our fuel pump to manipulate the price. Daniela was watching everything closely and just said - STOP IT -! They wanted 80,000 VND from us, but Daniela put a stop to that and made it very clear to them - NOT WITH US -! I gave them 30,000 VND and we drove off while they were still yelling....oh, that's the negative side here, they try to rip off the tourists so much...terrible! But at least we were glad they didn't rip us off! The positive side was that we got a full tank for only 30,000 VND...smile!
The white sand dunes suddenly appeared in front of us and they looked even more gigantic than the red ones. After safely parking our moped, we walked up the dune landscape and couldn't stop marveling. It's just impossible to imagine. A desert landscape emerging out of nowhere, but this time in white. Truly incredible natural spectacle!
Now it was time to head back, but not to the hotel, but to the Fairy Stream. Here, there's the Fairy Waterfall, and when it's active, water flows along the river. We could walk through it. The water was pleasantly warm, and on the left side, canyons in red and white color appeared. It felt like walking through a national park in America. It was also very impressive for us, this natural spectacle. Daniela and I walked all the way to the waterfall, we really wanted to see it. Just before reaching the goal, we had to get out of the water stream and walk through a small section of jungle, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, that was something for me again....:-))))))) - but I did it without complaining and we saw the Fairy Waterfall. :-()
Then we rode back to the resort on the moped, and at the resort, they serve coffee and tea from 3:00 pm. Daniela and I had a cup of coffee when suddenly a hotel staff member appeared behind me with a beautiful birthday cake and wished me a happy birthday. It was a very nice surprise. We and a German tour group enjoyed the cake together!
Now we're going to have some delicious food and drinks!
Warm greetings to Germany 🇩🇪
On this occasion, thanks to EVERYONE for the lovely birthday greetings!
PS: Daniela doesn't have lice 😂😂😂
