Our first stop in Eastland was Lake Waikaremoana.

A beautiful lake surrounded by untouched forests in Te Urewera National Park.

This is where you experience New Zealand as it once was, and you only meet very few people.

We continued towards East Cape, with a stop and walk to Cooks Cove.

The road to Eastcape winds along the coast.

The Eastcape Lighthouse is located at the easternmost point of New Zealand, where you can see the first rays of a new day (this is how it is 'advertised' here in New Zealand, but in fact the sun rises first in Samoa).

We wanted to see it anyway, so we got up early and climbed 800 steps to the lighthouse. The morning exercise was done for the day.

Unfortunately, it was cloudy and it took a while for the sun to come out.

He ihr zwei das ist ja wieder traumhaft. Die Leitplanken sind doch nur sportanisch 😏 aber die felsdurchgänge herrlich.
