Heading North

This morning, after a delicious breakfast, we set off heading north. On and off the highway (each one lane), we encountered many monkeys, antelopes, cows, horses, and warthogs along with other vehicles. The animals have the right of way, so always keep an eye out. It was quite exciting. And for the first time (and then repeatedly), the children saw a mirage, water on the road!

And we saw countless huge termite mounds!

After 4 hours of driving, we were rewarded with a beautiful lodge! And finally, this fascinating tranquility that impressed the children as well: you hear nothing but the wind and bird chirping. And from the outdoor terrace, you have a view of the endless expanse, with antelopes grazing, playing, and hunting right in front of us. Total relaxation and deceleration.

But first, of course, we went to the pool after the long drive and the over 30 degrees.

When we rest on the sun loungers afterwards, Maxima says, "it's like a fairytale here." It's nice to see how the two of them enjoy the country.

In the evening, Maxima can't fall asleep out of excitement, so many new impressions are going through her mind.
