3rd day - Wednesday (środa)

ପ୍ରକାଶିତ |: 27.09.2017

There is no doubt: My apartment on ul. Dzielna is located in the former Jewish Ghetto:

..and the former Pawiak prison of the Gestapo is only about 200 meters away from me:

The ghetto was evacuated from July 1942, i.e. deportations to Treblinka began. On 5th August 1942, the residents of ul. Dzielna were next in line, so the people who used to live where I live now:

Pawiak

The memorial of the Pawiak prison of the Gestapo:

The plaques represent tens of thousands of prisoners who died here. The tree, on the other hand, has survived all destruction and is a barren, silent witness:

The Pawiak prison was destroyed shortly before the Germans withdrew. Left behind are everyday objects of the prisoners:

Tempo Tanga

Here is a presumably self-composed tango of a prisoner who was deported to Sachsenhausen, handwritten :

The Scouts Rudy, Alek and Zośka

are supposedly known by everyone in Poland. Behind this is the moving story of the scout group 'Gray Ranks' who submitted to the Polish Home Army and resisted Nazi terror. Rudy finally ends up in Pawiak but is then liberated by the Home Army (Operation Arsenal)... A hero story of polish youth, which has been filmed several times.

Museum of the History of Jews in Poland - the Polin

Also located on the site of the former ghetto is the Polin, one of the most modern and best museums in Europe. I'm curious!

But how did the history of Jews in Poland begin? Well, it went like this...

..and after 1000 years they built this museum with a gap..

..symbolizing the departure of the Jews from Egypt through the sea. Ok, understood.

Otherwise there is:

Projections...

Interstellar trips...
Perfect illusions...
Reflections...
But soon it's time to go out.

..so let's get out.
