Today was a day for the soul 🧡We had so many special moments that we will never forget 🥹
We started with a delicious breakfast. Strengthened, we then set off on the safari. We discovered kudu's and other bucks, different species of birds, a type of weasel, turtles, zebras and elephants 🦌🦜🐢🦓🐘 Basti also saw a jackal. The zebras and elephants also had some babies. It was so nice to watch the herds. We were particularly impressed by the gentle giants 🐘❤️We were able to watch them while they were bathing, how they threw mud at themselves and other elephants and how they tried to climb back up over the edge of the waterhole. Totally funny 😂 It was just a really great trip. The kids participated really well. Leo slept 3/4 of the time and Anni was a bit exhausted after the impressions and getting up early, so she took a power nap in the jeep. On the way back from the park to the hotel we saw another giraffe 🦒😍Good to know 🤓: 1) At 1640 square kilometers, the Addo Elephant Park is the largest park in the Eastern Cape. 2) The African elephants are called that because the shape of their ear is reminiscent of the African continent.
At lunchtime we took a short break to let everything sink in. Afterwards, Basti and Anni went to the natural pool 💦We watched the most colorful birds building nests in the high reeds next to the pool and saw dragonflies flying over the water 🦜
Today we also met lovely people and had really nice conversations. And that's how our evening ended, with great conversations, delicious food and an Amarula in the pitch-dark restaurant (no loadshedding, just a power outage) 😂 For dinner today we had ostrich and, on the recommendation of the ranger, kudu steak. He said you shouldn't go home without trying kudu (a type of antelope). And it was worth it. It was fantastic 🤤
Anni immediately disappeared with the waitresses and was in the kitchen helping to clear up. Anni will definitely miss the girls, especially Abo 🧡 the two of them took a great photo together as a memory ☺️
At the end they all danced together with Anni. We are so thrilled by the warmth of hearts and the open and loving nature that we are shown here ❤️
It is with a heavy heart that we leave this magical place, hopefully change our car tomorrow (because the air conditioning is broken) and then drive back to Plettenberg Bay 🌊
Unfortunately the pictures don't do the experience justice. Unfortunately you cannot upload videos 😣
