A special feature of Tuscany are the hot natural springs. Of course we had to take a close look at it and test it. So get in the car, pack your swimsuit and a nose clip just in case 😁
Bagni San Filippo are beautiful springs in the middle of the woods and are certainly one of the insider tips in the Siena region, far away from mass tourism. When you visit, you will be amazed at the hot sulfur springs that bubble straight out of the earth in the midst of untouched nature.
The nose clip is really only necessary if you are very sensitive, otherwise you can just smell nature here. A tip: bathing shoes, as walking on the small and large stones can be a bit painful.
Since we liked it so much, we decided to visit another one of these hot springs in Saturnia. A completely different and yet very touristy picture awaits us here and yet something special.
The town of Saturnia is located about 8 km north of the main town of Manciano, in the Albegna Valley, in the southern Maremma. The well-known thermal springs can be found about 1 km south of the town. Approximately 500 liters of 37-degree warm, sulfur-containing water flow from the thermal spring every second, which comes from the slopes of Monte Amiata. On the slopes of the extinct volcano, rainwater collects at a depth of around 200 m and is enriched with sulfur and minerals
You can't compare these two places, but they both have one thing in common: the relaxation factor. CONCLUSION: Definitely worth a trip.
