The Lone Tree and the Roy's Peak Track

Here in Tarras with Ave and Rex, we're having a great time. They are like grandparents to us and it's also nice to be cooked for again. We never have to work for long because it's relatively warm and they constantly tell us that we can finish early if we want. Yesterday, we even got a whole day off to do the Roy's Peak hike. It's a steep path up Mount Roy, near Wanaka. It took us 2 1/2 hours to get up, and it was not only challenging due to the steepness but also because it was quite warm and the sun was shining constantly. But we made it to the top and it was worth it, the view was truly fantastic.

Before we climbed the mountain, we made a stop at the 'Lone Tree' in Wanaka, which stands alone in the water and is a very popular photo spot, especially for tourists. The reflections on the water surface create a really beautiful picture.
