Stilts of Carrasqueira

ପ୍ରକାଶିତ |: 17.02.2020

The wooden stilt walkways of the fishing village Carrasqueira are - according to the travel guide - unique in Portugal. They were built because the fishing boats were so far away during low tide and the fishermen could reach them better this way. The original walkway was probably built in the 1950s. Now it has apparently been replaced by a new one, which is not as picturesque.

Apparently, many photographers come here to take the ultimate picture. Of course, I had to go there too. 😀

Unfortunately, it was low tide and there was no sun, but it was still cool to see. The last two photos were stolen from the internet, so it would be with sun and a good camera.
