I already wrote to you about my mishap with the glasses. But I didn't tell you that the next morning, my neighbor Ulla came zooming in with her spare glasses and said that I should try if her old glasses work better than going without. Yes, THAT Ulla, who had already helped me so much the day before with vinegar water and other cleaning agents!
And what do you know, suddenly I could almost see as well as with my broken glasses. How cool is that? But it doesn't help, I need new glasses. So off to Denia, there are supposed to be several opticians there. Thank goodness I could drive now, because as a total blindfish, I wouldn't have dared to do it.
Denia - what a cute little town! Just the way there, orange and clementine plantations on both sides, lemon trees here and there, olive trees - so idyllic.
But off to Robin L..k, a store of an optician chain, similar to Fielfrau and Co. I was quite impressed, because for my last pair of glasses in Hamburg I paid over € 600 and here they wanted only € 320, including everything with the Black Friday discount.
But I still needed an appointment to have my eyes checked.
I spent the rest of the day exploring Denia a bit with the dogs. It was cloudy, the sun occasionally came through, and I strolled towards the new harbor, the marina of Denia. Really beautiful, with a palm-lined promenade and a few nice places. I was particularly impressed by a lounge bar, modern and spacey, with a nice atmosphere and chill music. The sun came out, it was warm, the water splashed, the yachts bobbed and I just thought to myself: 'Life can be so beautiful!'
I leaned back in the white cushions at the feet of my dogs, enjoyed the warm sun on my face, the great view of the castle and the harbor, and my 'Clara', Spanish for shandy. What a wonderful afternoon!
Later, back at the campsite, 'my' Swede told me that there would be an even cheaper alternative for opticians in Xàbia. But more about that later.
In any case, on this evening Anders cooked for me again, it was pasta with gorgonzola sauce and a good red wine. Delicious!!
