We knew what was on the program this morning. Same way back as yesterday. Well fortified and with rested legs (thanks to yesterday's regeneration shake), we went back up the Umbrail. Daniela and I enjoyed this while chatting, so we reached the mountain pass surprisingly quickly....We let Patrick go, he did the Passo Gavia as an encore. The descent towards Bormio was impressive, steep and nutritious. We all agreed: no one wants to go up there. But there were plenty of Italian cyclists who were brave enough. After a delicious lunch break in Isolaccia - we really felt like we were in Italy!! Now just the Passo Du Foscagno to climb and then via Passo d'Eira to Livigno. About 2250 meters of altitude gain in just under 70 km. It was all uphill or downhill but it was great, and the sun was shining. Our Patrick, the machine, almost caught up with us.
In the pedestrian zone of Livigno, we were surprised by the many people, but we were drawn to our hotel where we toasted our performance with a welcome drink of beer and Cüppli. In the wellness area, we let our tired muscles relax before enjoying a delicious dinner at our hotel Lac Saline!!
