To not let us get out of the routine, it's drizzling again. But the night was completely okay and we slept well on our sheep. Quickly into the, fortunately heated, sanitary facilities, took a nice warm shower and back to the bus in the drizzle. The place here is really great, the slope is terraced and the river, the Tarn, is really beautiful. It's a shame we arrived so late yesterday and have to leave early again today. The campsite is really huge, we didn't see that in the dark yesterday... crazy that we still have to take a taxi there in the winter season...!
Around 10:30 a.m. we're back on the road. Jörni would like to see the Millau Viaduct. We decide not to drive across it, but to go underneath and then back onto the A75 later. So we drive along small side roads through French villages and after half an hour we pass the longest cable-stayed bridge in the world, with a length of 2460 meters! Although Jörni imagined the thing even bigger...well, now we've seen it anyway!
Afterwards we stop at a Boulangerie...finally back in France...we love French Boulangeries, why don't we have them in our country...? There are only some kind of bake-yourself bakers with rubber rolls...eww...!
We stand in front of the display and block the traffic, because we can't make up our minds. We buy all kinds of things and decide to only eat the finest pastries for the last days here in France...what a treat! We decide that if we really ever open a campsite, we will definitely do it in France...because of all the Boulangeries...even if we get fat and have to take a taxi :)
We continue on our way and reach a place just before Clermont-Ferrand in Orcet around 2:30 p.m.!
It's also absolutely quiet here, but at least we found a place to sleep. However, it's really expensive and our camping card doesn't apply here in January...smart...since there is no other place open for miles around...! He probably doesn't drive a taxi on the side. We decide against electricity, because it costs a whole 5.20€, not necessary for one night...although Jörni is not quite sure, because we are still a lot further north and it's 0 degrees for the night! No electricity, no fan heater, no fan heater, freezing cold! We'll tough it out! Currently it's six degrees and the sun is actually peeking through the clouds a bit! So we take the dog for a walk right away and walk through the beautiful landscape, just around the corner you can't decide because of all the walking trails and we decide to climb a volcano mountain. From here you have a fantastic view of the city and the surrounding countryside, wonderful! Afterwards we stroll through the village and hope for a coffee, but there's really nothing going on here and we walk back to the campsite. Hopefully at least the Boulangerie will be open tomorrow morning...it would be really too bad if not...! Then we cook some pasta and slowly eat up the leftovers...to make room for all the pastries! It's dark at 6 p.m., we're not used to that anymore, because a beautiful sunset was still waiting for us down in the south...oh yes...it was beautiful...!
After dark, it's about 2 degrees and we manage to stay outside until shortly before seven, then we voluntarily brush our teeth and Jörni blow-dries his fingers for a long time...because it's so nice and warm...! He even considered sleeping on the bench in the sanitary building, because it's so cozy here...! Now we're already in bed wrapped in blankets and can make breaths in the bus...but at least we saved 5.20€...even if we freeze our butts off now...well, the butt is warm, but the fingers typing here are already slightly frozen! How much money have we wasted on crap, but at least we're saving the dime...crazy...but it's a matter of principle...the place was already expensive enough...no more from us...then he'll just have to drive a round of taxi!
Instead of cat videos, Jörni watches fireplace videos today...then it's warmer...!
Let's hope we don't freeze...icy greetings to our home!
