Fourth stop: Coromandel

For four days, Elli and I are going to Coromandel! It has often been said that it is a beautiful city and great for backpackers.

So I had some expectations for Coromandel.

Arriving there, we were initially delighted that the hostel looked so great and it even had a whirlpool ☝️ Unfortunately, we only used it once.

However, we quickly realized that the Coromandel on the west coast was not the one everyone was talking about. Our Coromandel was very remote, abandoned, and very small - just an old small town!

Nevertheless, we had a lot planned, with the top of the list being 1) Hot Water Beach and 2) Cathedral Cove. Can't wait to show you the pictures of them!
On the first day, we explored the city by bike. Even our popular and well-known supermarkets 'Countdown' and 'Pak'n'Save' didn't have them, so we had to buy everything in a small supermarket, which wasn't exactly cheap for backpackers.
The bikes weren't great either. At first, it was a lot of fun, but over time, we lost interest because they were very basic bikes. And by the way, in New Zealand, wearing a bike helmet is mandatory 😂

But I have to say that Coromandel was fun and beautiful. Elli and I make the best out of everything and we always have something to laugh about.

So until next time👋🏼
