A night that changed me forever.

06.10.2018:

The alarm clock rang at 10 o'clock. Eventually, we started at 11:45. I was ready in a bad mood. On the way, there was a restaurant by the roadside where we had lunch. Then we went through many curves through the beautiful forests towards Tham Lod Cave. At first, we couldn't find the way. Finally, we arrived. David and Marwin were excited about the tour - both on the raft and on foot. I thought it was okay. After that, we were supposed to go to the Hot Springs, but it wasn't worth it for two hours. We used my action cam all day to take pictures of the beautiful scenery while driving.

So we visited the 'Land Split'. Here locals grow their goods. Sweet potatoes, bananas, hibiscus, and other things could be tasted for a donation. I especially liked the hibiscus jam as a dip with dried bananas. Then we went to the Bamboo Bridges. They were built so that the monks could reach their temple even during floods. Then it started to rain. We sought shelter and waited. I was upset that there was no time left to go to the Pam Bock Waterfall. Finally, we went home in the rain on the scooter. Still a bit grumpy, we went out for dinner and then to a bar. Muriel and Katja also showed up there. Then we went to another bar. David had gotten a tattoo during the night. Now there is 'beer' written in Thai script on his arm. I had myself painted in a bar. It looked really cool!

In the end, the night made me think. What is the meaning of life? Or rather, is there THE meaning of life or does everyone have to formulate and pursue their own individual goal? Sitting in the office every day, working hard, and always giving everything to climb the career ladder. That's how it looks for many people. But are they happy? The higher you are on the career ladder, the more money you get. Fine. But also more responsibility. More to do. Unpaid overtime. Lots of money and no time to spend it. Maybe some people are satisfied with that. However, I prefer a simpler life with more time that I can invest in what I want. Friends and adventures. Family and relatives. Not primarily for work, which primarily serves to support life. Unless you love your job. But first, you have to find one. That is also my goal. To find a job that suits me. Whether it is better or worse paid is not the top priority. After all, I invest a lot of time in my life, so I want to feel like I'm living while I'm working.

Furthermore, my rather short-term goal is to become more relaxed and not to take things so seriously. There is always a solution when you're in a tight spot. And if the others want to go out for a drink, let them. If you don't feel like it yourself, the others will accept it. Then you just don't feel like it that day. But again on another day. Everyone has moments when they feel like doing something or not. In the same way, I have to accept it when the others want to drink when they feel like it.
