Hello,

Due to the jetlag, I had a short night and woke up at 3am and couldn't fall back asleep. At 7:30am, breakfast was served, which mainly consists of bagels, cream cheese, jam, a bit of yogurt, and cereal. But everything tastes good and it's nice that we don't have to worry about breakfast ourselves :-)

On my first full day in Vancouver, I joined the English girl from my room and we took a SeaBus and a regular bus to Grouse Mountain, a mountain north of Vancouver. Here, we could ride up with a huge gondola and had a really great view of Vancouver. After wandering around a bit, I already came across my first grizzly bear. But no worries, there was an electric fence between us :-) There are actually 2 grizzly bears living on Grouse Mountain in an enclosure, who were found without a mother in British Columbia some time ago and were then raised. There are no longer any wild grizzly bears in British Columbia...

In addition to the bears, an owl was also raised there, which we listened to a little lecture about. After that, we took a chairlift to the top of the mountain, where we were 1000m above Vancouver. The view was once again amazing! From here, some paragliders also took off and made their way back down. We, on the other hand, took the chairlift and the gondola again :-D

So, a really nice first day came to an end, which we finished off with a burger at our hostel.
