Chapter 8: Now it gets adventurous

After saying goodbye to Eline and her family around noon, we are now on our own. The days are noticeably shorter, so today it was only light for about five hours. Our additional headlights were already in full use from 4:00 p.m.

The further north we went, the more the rain turned into snow.

The highlight of our stage today was drifting on the completely snow-covered rest area before setting up the cooking tent at the rear of the vehicle. During this first setup, there was still a lot of room for improvement for the next few days. Apart from the routine, we were missing the guy lines, which were probably still at home.

Once again, the heater refused to work, and we started a search for the fault in the snowstorm. Fortunately, the problem was not with the fuel supply, but was due to a clogged exhaust pipe. Presumably, our drifting brought too much slush into the pipe.
