Glowworm caves whangarei

ପ୍ରକାଶିତ |: 24.10.2016

Today Nik, Adam, Emeric, Cynthia, and I went to the Abbey Caves in Whangerei.

The first cave was the best because of the glowworms (we had to turn off the flashlight for a few minutes to see them). The second cave was totally boring and the third one was an absolute adventure. We had to climb down a small slope to enter the cave. Inside, water was flowing into the cave and we were partially knee-deep in water. At some point in the middle of the cave, it became so narrow that we had to crawl through to continue. We climbed a bit further until the water became extremely deep, and the others continued (they even had to swim at some point). The water was too cold for me, so I stayed behind alone, turned off the flashlight, and waited for the glowworms to become more visible again. (Unfortunately, I couldn't take any photos as my phone would have gotten 10000% wet)

Afterwards, we briefly visited the Whangerei Falls.

Tomorrow we only have to work at the packhouse at 12:30 PM.
