Vesteralen III

After spending the night in Osvalldalen, we drove to Sortland Tourist Info to find out where the entry point is for the no. 5 of the top five hikes in Vesteralen. In Sortland, we also saw the first Hurtigruten ship.

Lieke enjoyed the hike, especially picking blueberries. Although it was mostly the adults who did the picking, Lieke's loot went straight from hand to mouth.

After the very nice hike, which we unintentionally shortened (we should have checked the map at the start, but completely overlooked it), we took advantage of the evening hours and drove further to Andøya. A deserted, vast and barren landscape awaited us.

We spent the night at Bukkekjerka, at a brand new architecturally valuable picnic spot. Here we found plenty of cloudberries that everyone enjoyed. Most of the blueberries from the previous day ended up in pancakes.
