'The early bird catches the worm!' - so we started our second day in Vancouver, eager to escape from the snoring monster below us. At the buffet, we had our first taste of 'typical' American breakfast, aka bagels with cream cheese (which would accompany us for the next few days). We also made our first acquaintance. Together with Franzi, we made plans for the day and walked together to the SWAP office, where an orientation session was held for all the work and travelers. Along the way, we got our first impressions of the city in the morning and saw the harbor in the shadow of the breathtaking mountains and the foggy city with its tired faces.

After the informative and helpful SWAP event, the real fun began and the four of us set out to explore the city. The huge buildings, the colorful autumn trees, and the hustle and bustle of the city created an image that we will never forget. We even made it to Stanley Park, which is across from the city and showcases Vancouver in all its glory. What was supposed to be a 30-minute walk turned into a 60-minute trip, interrupted by many photos.

Exhausted from hours of walking with our luggage, we still managed to apply for and obtain our Social Insurance Number, which is essential for working in Canada. But that wasn't the end of our productive work for the day... once we arrived back at the hostel, we tackled important tasks like switching our SIM card to a Canadian phone number, booking accommodations for the next few days, and writing our resumes for the first time.

And so, our first full day in Vancouver ended in our small, stuffy hostel room, still occupied by that unpleasant mole.
