Only 4 days left...

After a relatively quiet and relaxed night, the day greeted us again with a blue sky. We got ready relatively quickly and went to the bar from the previous evening for breakfast. To our delight, we met Claude with his two wives there again. Obviously, the alcohol level had dropped significantly, because compared to the evening before, he sat silently in his place, while his two wives had found another victim to talk to incessantly in French, in order to confirm various hotel reservations for them in Spanish. This was not easy due to the language barriers. But where there's a will, there's a way, and the will was clearly present in the two ladies. Claude was occasionally instructed to get various drinks at the bar. We had our fun....... Claude, not so much... We started our walk, thoroughly amused..... strange.... where did the bus park..... suddenly hordes of pilgrims came. We hadn't experienced that before. Monika explained it to me: in order to be absolved of your sins, you have to prove that you have walked the last 100 kilometers to Santiago de Compostela and document it with stamps in your pilgrim passport. Therefore, the pilgrimage route for the last 100 km is quite busy. Too bad.... but also an experience to see all the things you get to see (although not always necessarily want to see...). After about 5 kilometers of walking through beautiful forested area, past the bay of Vigo, we crossed an old small Roman bridge and stopped for a break at a bar behind it, with delicious coffee and pastries. We watched the arriving pilgrims, and it didn't take long for Claude to come trotting along.... alone.... as always.... his wives had surely gotten caught up in conversation somewhere.... he clearly enjoyed his peace and quiet. Oh Claude.... the journey wouldn't be half as amusing without you and your wives....
