Day 11 * Paddling at Embalse de la Cuerda del Pozo

The night by the lake is lonely and quiet. Apart from an owl, we hear nothing and no one.

In the morning, after breakfast in the sun, we get on our stand-up paddleboards. We glide through the barren and deserted landscape for 3 hours. The sun shines hot like summer, even though we are at an altitude of 1000 meters. There is nothing to hear except our own paddling and the sound of the wind. Once we encounter a small motorboat with fishermen. Then silence returns.

We cook, eat, rest a little, and enjoy the summer day.

In the evening, we drive to the neighboring town of Vinuesa. There is an official RV park there. After the lonely night and the day at the deserted lake, we long for some company. And indeed: up in the narrow old town, we find a quaint restaurant. The friendly host puts something on the outdoor grill for us and pours a good wine.
