Day 14 - Pentecost

Simon: Following tips from camping neighbors, we took the N 621 route through the Picos de Europa (foothills of the Pyrenees) on our way to Riano. Impressive winding roads, rugged mountains, and magnificent nature - we even spotted circling eagles and vultures. However, due to a landslide and road closure, we had to change our plans. Following advice from other affected travelers, we decided to visit Potes and ask for a place to stay. Initially, it was difficult and we were already tired, but we eventually found a great campsite, the best one so far! Received a message from our host in Portugal: heavy rain has soaked the property and our pitch. The recommendation is to arrive on Wednesday. We will most likely follow that advice and explore the city of Potes: visit the weekly market, the cathedral, and take a break...
