First of all, delicious lunch. Typical Vietnamese delicacies directly from the sea and directly by the sea, mmm tasty.
But now something for the eyes. We visited Villa Blanche. The white palace was built by the French and served as the summer house of a governor. Very nicely furnished and you can learn a lot about the French period back then. The best thing about this beautiful house, however, are the many fragrant and beautiful frangipani trees in the garden. We then went to the small whale temple. Whales are honored here, as they are the protectors of sailors. Rightly so ;-). In between, a Vietnamese coffee. It always tastes a bit like chocolate here. Now it became very historic. A brief glimpse into the time of the Vietnam War. We visited narrow, dark, small and stuffy tunnels. Unimaginable how the people had to endure here for months. Much nicer and more generous, on the other hand, is the house of Mr. Tran. He was a very charitable man. In exchange for a little work, people who were not doing so well could live in his house free of charge. Very lovable people who still live here today and a great facility. Trunks, chests of drawers and cupboards decorated with mother-of-pearl. No photos are allowed and unfortunately there are no beautiful pieces of furniture for sale either.
