Navigation gets on my nerves

Day 41Near Monemvasia - Dimitsana Philosophos Monastery Parking Lot

This morning we said goodbye to Moni and Stephan, who knows if we'll see them again? Originally, we wanted to have another beach overnight stay today. But the navigation system often has a different opinion and by the time we realized it, it was already too late. Instead, we ended up in the Melanon Mountains today. Change of scenery feels good. Tomorrow, we want to hike the Loussios Gorge. We already know it from 2010, but it's worth repeating. Today, I had to remember the story with Farina back then. We stayed overnight with a vacation acquaintance by the Loussios River. Little Johanna came running excitedly: Hurry, Farina is drifting away. I immediately threw the book aside and ran. By the time I got there, she was already accompanied by a Greek man who helped her out of the water. And why all this? Because she lost a 1 Euro flip flop. Did I do something wrong in teaching frugality? In any case, we were all glad that it turned out the way it did. The water wasn't that deep, but it was all rocky and everything. We had her hand x-rayed. She got a cast. We didn't really follow the advice to take a break and swim in the sea. After all, we were on vacation. Such places leave a lasting impression.

Today, we are parked in front of the Philosophos Monastery and will hike the gorge tomorrow. Now, we're just enjoying the view from above.
