Stage 137: From Como to Lake Iseo

ପ୍ରକାଶିତ |: 01.10.2022

Today I wanted to test the capabilities of my new rear wheel. After Como, I went directly along a steep gravel path. Later, I mostly rode on relatively busy mountain roads.

Continuing east, I eventually passed through Bergamo and, by late afternoon, arrived at Lake Iseo in perfect weather. I wanted to take a break halfway to Verona here. The selection of campsites in the region is overwhelming. Interestingly, it seems that mainly Italian tourists come here for vacation, and you rarely hear German or other languages. But that was fine with me.

At the reception of the first campsite, I was lucky again. There was only a small plot available right next to the toilets, but I gratefully accepted what I could get. I went to the supermarket 5 km away on my bike for a big shopping trip. I cooked alone because most of the long-term campers on the site seemed to just stare at me instead of approaching me. It seemed to be rare to have passing tourists there. But that left plenty of time in the evening to plan the next stages.
