In the morning, I go to the small supermarket at the camper stop and get us some bread and settle our bill right away. 3 nights, doradas, 2 fries, 1 salad, and 2 breads = 80 euros. I think there’s really nothing to complain about.
We enjoy breakfast and then pack everything up and make it roadworthy. We still need to fill up and dispose, which will be quite interesting since the gray water outlet isn't ideally located. However, with Freddy's guidance, we manage to position the gray water outlet correctly, and whoosh... it works and goes in the right direction.
We leave the fantastic campsite toward Corinth and cross the canal on a truly narrow stretch over a bridge. I have to concentrate on driving and find a point at the end of the bridge... otherwise, there's a tendency to veer a bit too far right or left. It goes without a scratch, and we drive a bit further to get the legendary view from the bridge over the Corinth Canal. We park haphazardly and do as the Greeks do. Nobody really cares how and where you park. It’s just a corner where we don’t want to leave our camper with all our stuff unattended. Freddy checks out the canal first and takes photos and a video segment for YouTube. He calls me for a “photo shoot,” and as I step onto the bridge, I make the mistake of looking down... oh man, with a fear of heights, it’s better to look into the distance. The bridge is incredibly high or the canal is incredibly deep. It always depends on the viewer's perspective 😂.
We continue on and find a camping spot by the water in Isthmia. It’s really beautiful, and at the moment, the sun is shining through the windshield, warming me and my heart... Freddy snoozes and lets the fresh air waft in through the open window... marvelous. This is how it should continue. In the horizon, a fire-fighting plane is making its rounds, scooping up water, climbing up, and releasing it again, and we can see a sailboat in the distance... a wonderful peace.
With the DPD app, we could see that our package is already in Bulgaria... so it can't be too long now before it arrives in Athens. We estimate around the middle of next week. We’re slowly making our way toward Athens... it can't hurt to head in that direction early on.
We end the evening with a fishing session and a spectacular sunset... amazing... just a great spot.
Good night
