Our last day started early. Already at 8.15 a.m., all host parents brought their guests back to the hotel where the 'amici' were supposed to spend their last night. After briefly dropping off our suitcases, the bus took us to the nearest train station. From here, we took the train and it took less than 90 minutes for us to immerse ourselves in the metropolis in Penn Station, 34th Street, right in the heart of Manhattan.
Now we split up into groups that fanned out in all directions of Manhattan. The only downer: the weather forecast did not promise too much, it snowed and snowed. The tops of the skyscrapers could only be guessed at, so the viewpoints at Empire State and One World were less promising for this day. But that didn't detract from this city trip, New York offers plenty of alternative programs. So the 'amici' took over the Lincoln Center peninsula, through Central Park, 5th Avenue to Ground Zero.
Tired but with happy faces, we met again at 6 p.m. at Penn Station to return to Trenton. Our bus was already there, which brought us back to the hotel. In the evening, our agent, friend, and tour manager Maury Schulte invited us to the farewell party at the hotel. Thus ends a beautiful day. And a beautiful trip.
