Tourist highlight Geiranger Fjord without crowds of tourists (or cruise ships)

Maxxanfame: 28.07.2020

Yesterday (Monday, 27.7.2020) our route took us directly to the 24.51 km long Lærdal Tunnel followed by a (first) ferry crossing. Since we couldn't find a suitable campsite, we drove longer than planned and our route took us on a second ferry. Right behind the Lote ferry port, we found a parking space with a sensational view. As always, we enjoy the diverse landscape on the route, of which we have included some photos as impressions (mostly taken from the car as there are very few stopping options for us).

Today (Tuesday, 28.7.2020) we didn't go as far with the motorhome, but instead took Smart to the famous Geiranger Fjord. This fjord is mainly known for the cruise ships that used to gather there. During the Corona times, the tourist density is not as high, so we can enjoy the tour without many cars and crowds of people (like many other highlights as well 😄 The Geiranger Fjord itself is not the highlight, but the landscape of the journey, including the fjord.

In addition, we are lucky because the weather was better than predicted and we found a campsite that also offers a sensational view. WONDERFUL 😃

By the way, for the Norwegians, we are an eye-catcher with the Smart and the German license plates. On the one hand, because you never see such a small car here and on the other hand, everyone wonders how we can travel from Germany to Norway with so little cargo space. If we then take the dog out of the trunk (which is full with her and the dog bed), their jaws drop and we usually have to explain the situation 😄

We, in turn, are fascinated by the vehicles in Norway. For those wondering who the mega-expensive electric cars are built for, it's for Norway! There are generally a lot of electric cars here, but also many high-priced ones, such as the Audi e-ton, in addition to countless Teslas, but we have also seen the Porsche Taycan, as well as many others!

Warm regards from Thomas, Janina, and Triene

Das mit den E-Autos ist ja mal wieder interessant. Wir haben auch gerade eines bestellt.
