A wide river with a beautiful skyline runs through Da Nang located in central Vietnam. At night, every bridge and tower lights up in colorful lights, which is really beautiful to see. What's even better is that our hotel's restaurant was located on the 11th floor and completely made of glass - a gigantic view!

Unfortunately, we chose the wrong time to visit central Vietnam. It rained continuously (heavily!!!) throughout our stay, so we even had to move our flights 4 days earlier or change them to avoid sitting in the room for days. As a result, we couldn't enjoy the beautiful beach either. Luckily, we had a bit more luxury for Markus' birthday and had an extremely nice room with a luxury bathroom (the toilet seat had a massage function and seat heating 😂).

To celebrate, we went to a live music bar. It was a really fun evening! But we were both a bit surprised by the Vietnamese legal 'party drug' - laughing gas balloons. So half of the people on the dance floor had a balloon in their mouth instead of a beer... So crazy. It didn't take 30 seconds for them to burst into laughter, and less than 2 minutes later, the high was gone.

Then it was Markus' birthday! We had a really, really good meal in an Italian restaurant, and in the evening, I surprised him at the rooftop restaurant with a cake and a delicious menu to end his day 😊

On the last day, despite the predicted rain once again, we took advantage of the free shuttle to the UNESCO city of Hoi An because we didn't want to miss it. More on that in the next blog 😊
