So 17.10. Helsinki

Sun all day

After a long sleep and a late breakfast, we take a walk to the sea - the large body of water in the middle of Helsinki is a bay of the Baltic Sea.

In the nearby Sibelius Park, we visit the Sibelius monument, a large, impressive structure made of shiny metal tubes.

At noon, we ride our bikes along this body of water to Juha and Leena, who have invited us for lunch. They live on the other side of the bay, and on our way to them, we pass by the Finnish Prime Minister's and the President of Finland's residences. The properties are fenced, video-monitored, and drones are not allowed to fly over them, but they are not completely sealed fortresses.

At Juha and Leena's, we spend a wonderful and relaxed afternoon with good food and good conversations.

Back at the apartment, we pack the things we need for the ship trip and start mentally preparing for home.
