Arrived in Hanoi yesterday. The flight was long, the passport controller looked very strict and didn't change his expression despite saying "Hello" and "Happy to be here". So exactly how it should be in practical socialism 😀.
Spent the rest of the day wandering around the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Although, it's more like hopping back and forth to avoid being run over by scooters 😳. I have learned that you just have to walk and not look ... the Vietnamese do the "watch out" for you. So it's almost like for tourists in Münster with the cyclists ..
Here in the Old Quarter, it's just colorful, loud because of the honking scooters, hectic and chilled at the same time. Amazing atmosphere. Can't get enough of the sights ... and sounds. But on the first day, I was also feeling the jet lag in my legs. Oh yes ... except for the passport controller, everyone is very friendly, helpful and polite. Not everyone knows Germany, but why should they ... "Little country near Europe 😀". That's true somehow ...
