Hey Friends,
here's the promised post.
I think now you know what it's all about. Yes, I had the unique opportunity to see the beautiful city of Washington D.C. yesterday. 😍
We left relatively early in the morning to really make the most of the day. The city is truly breathtaking. There is always something going on. It took about 2 1/2 hours to get to Washington.
It's really a little dream come true and I'm so grateful that something like this is even possible at this time. 🙏🏻
The first thing we did was visit the Lincoln Monument. The tower is so huge when you stand in front of it! We also had the best weather anyone could ask for. I know it's December, but in some places in the US, it never snows. It depends on where you are. Many food trucks were lined up in front of the monument providing food. But don't ask about the price. 😂
After taking many pictures, we moved on to the U.S. Capitol. Right behind it is one of the largest libraries in the world. Unfortunately, the Library of Congress was closed. 😅
After that, we passed by the National Gallery of Arts on our way to the White House. I noticed how many museums there actually are in the city. 😳
One day is definitely too short to really see everything in detail. However, I still got a 'first glimpse'. 😉
When I saw the White House, I was a bit disappointed at first. It was completely sealed off. I think because of the political situation, the city is on high alert. It wasn't until we walked a few meters further from the wall that we could see the White House in its full size. I had to really realize that I actually saw the White House in person. 😍
But I don't want to talk too much. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. In any case, I had an amazing time and was happy (as you can see in the pictures). ☺️
By the way: I can only recommend the city! :D
Aside from sore feet at the end of the day and knowing that we walked around 12,000 steps that day, it was truly worth it. 😊
That was my little day trip on a blog.
Until the next post. 😃
