We will still be early risers (not). Today our guide Excellent, yes, that's apparently his real name, picked us up at 6 o'clock and we went on safari again. Today we had the last two of the Big Five on the program. And we were really lucky, we actually spotted two leopards and two rhinos. However, only one with a horn, the other one had its horn cut off by the rangers to prevent poachers from killing it for its horn. Although it is now more difficult for it to defend against lions, humans actually pose a greater threat to these animals. We were able to observe one of the leopards hunting, but unfortunately the antelopes managed to escape in time.
In addition to many other animals, we also saw elephants and lions again today, so we have seen four of the Big Five in one day. We watched one of the lions lying in the shade for over two hours. We hoped that it would come closer so we could take a great photo, but unfortunately the lion went in the other direction.
Fun Fact: During a short stop at a camp, we left our lunch packages in the open safari car. The monkeys had a lot of fun with us, when we returned to the car there wasn't much of our food left. These clever creatures licked the yogurts, ate the fruits that were in plastic cups, took out the crackers from the plastic packaging, and stole the juice from the Tetra Paks. They ate the boiled egg on the driver's seat. Too bad we didn't see all of that.
