Final destination: Edinburgh

After 2.800 kilometres on the bicycle, 19.300 highmeters going uphill and 8 weeks on the road, I did my last mile in the saddle to arrive at my hosts home. Sarah and Richard offered me to stay for 2 days to prepare my bike for the flight. The bicycle shop nearby gave me a cardboard box to wrap up my bike safely. Thanks Andy from projectride for the box! Richard helped me with the pedals and gave me some spare bubbles wrap. With this help it was done quickly and I had plenty of time left to see the city. I could join a free walking tour, visited the architecture of the scottisch Parliament building, went to the new town and relxed in some nice green areas. Fortunately it was quite sunny and I enjoyed the city very much.

Now I'm looking forward to Susen's arrival and to travel together with her. Our plan is to do some hikes in the northwest of Scotland. I'm very happy that I can leave my wrapped bike with Sarah and Richard during this time. They even gave me some hiking maps and had at lot of tour tips. Thanks very much to you both! You contributed to a great end to my trip. I still can't believe I'm not cycling further but luckily, my journey continues in a different exciting way :-D

Respect! Great tour. And impressive 20k meters climbing proves that you were not riding in Netherlands. Thanks a lot for sharing your adventure in your wonderful blog with super photos and exciting news. Was a great pleasure to follow you. Enjoy the hiking week in the Highlands and have a safe trip back to Germany.
