Today we start early, heading towards Falköping to Lake Hornborgasjön. The lake has a depth of about two meters and is surrounded by a reed belt. It serves as a resting place for migratory birds in spring and autumn, but many birds also stay at the lake and breed there. Among the 100 bird species that can be observed at the lake, about half are migratory birds and the other half breed in or near the lake. The cranes in particular are worth mentioning among the migratory birds, which stay at the lake and in the surrounding area from mid-March to the end of September and also breed here. Their number can reach up to 25,000. An incredible spectacle to observe so many cranes peacefully feeding at the lake. We drive back to Vallda through beautiful natural landscapes. Today we can also observe weak northern lights again.
