... until departure to Windhoek, Namibia. The idea of visiting this breathtaking country in southern Africa for an extended stay was supposed to become a reality in less than 24 hours. In order to give shape to my impressions, experiences and adventures and not completely lose contact with home, I have decided to create this travel blog. In addition, this allows me to keep all of you updated with just one update. Unfortunately, I can't say for sure today whether I will be able to keep the blog up to date for the next 3 and a half months - but as of now, I am highly motivated to give you all an update every 1-2 days. There will certainly be enough experiences and events. For those of you who are not exactly 'up to date' on my plan for the coming weeks, here is a brief overview:
In about 31 hours and 7 minutes, I will, hopefully on time, start towards Windhoek (the capital of Namibia) with my cousin in tow. From there, our journey continues, about 270km northwest of Windhoek, to the Ondombo hunting and guest farm. There, we will work in the farm, hunting, and guest operations for just under 3 months and of course also live on the farm. Afterwards, we will meet the rest of our family and spend the next 3 weeks crossing the Kalahari Desert and Okavango Delta to Victoria Falls, before returning to Germany via the Zambezi Region and Windhoek.
That's the plan: But the last few days were all about finding equipment, packing bags, and completing final preparations.
From a packing list on paper ...
