Total public transport: Beautiful weather on the Hasliberg

Maxxanfame: 01.10.2024

After two solo days, today is a day with nice company. It's Mother-Son Day :-)

Mom wished for a trip to Planplatte. Just the night before, we were pondering over the weather forecast: Hasliberg yes/no? Cancel? Postpone? Still go? We decided to go anyway.

The morning starts gloomy. But Saturday was quite nice despite the mediocre weather. However, already on the way to the meeting point, the sky clears up, and the Föhn window will grant us several beautiful hours before the next bad weather phase arrives.

At Lungern Lake, the golden autumn weather overwhelms us for the first time. With people from all over the world, we soak in the lovely atmosphere.

The drive to Reuti awakens many memories in me. I probably haven’t been here for 20 years. But forty years of summer, autumn, winter, spring, and who knows what other holidays have left their marks. Around every bend, memories rise that we must of course discuss immediately.

At the mountain railways in Wasserwendi and Reuti, I earned my first real money as a jack-of-all-trades: cleaning toilets, traffic control, ticket checking, ski lift supervision, slope monitoring. From early morning until late evening in the fresh air (except during toilet cleaning, of course), it was an exciting experience overall. By the way: We received our weekly wages in cash in a yellow bag. And if the boss was very pleased, he even slipped a day pass in the bag!

The parking lot in Reuti is quite full, but the people distribute themselves well. Without much waiting, we board the gondola. Before heading up to Planplatte, we treat ourselves to a coffee at Mägisalp.

Upon arrival, my mother takes a break while I take the path to the viewpoint. The view here is fantastic. The Wetterhorn group, the Ritzlihorn, the Dammastock – just impressive. And the weather is perfect!

Happy with all these impressions, we begin our return journey. A generous lunch at Berghaus Mägisalp rounds off the trip. On the way back, we catch another glimpse of the chamois herd that has obviously crossed to the other side of the road during the day. The little path around the Lopper completes our shared day perfectly.

Heartfelt thanks for the lovely company!
