After a delayed start due to an extremely diligent drug dog, I have now landed in New York today. The taxi ride from the airport was under the motto: 'Do fliecht ann es Feier vi de Augn'. I learned that gaps only arise through courage and lack of brakes. But the view of the skyline is equally unforgettable.
My hotel is located right next to ground zero. The taxi driver said that there are new one-way streets every week here, so he didn't know exactly how to get to the hotel. I then got out at a corner with the hint of finding the hotel already...
After 30 minutes of searching in freezing cold NY, I finally found it.
Afterwards, I quickly went to Morton's Steakhouse. Everything very fine, next to me an older couple from Conneticut. I immediately got into a nice conversation with them. That's exactly what I like in America.
Now I've been awake for almost 20 hours and I'm going to lie down. 17th floor, feels like it's swaying a bit...
Tomorrow I'm going to Times Square and Co.
stay tuned
Jeff
