From Bayersoien to Oberammergau

Today, on August 20th, the weather forecast could be trusted completely, rain was predicted and it rained all day. Sometimes more, sometimes less 😀.

I chose a short stage, just over 15 km, nothing more.

At the beginning, I walked through a forest again, seemingly dripping with water, streams everywhere, moss on the ground and on the trees. Pure life! Unfortunately, it was marred by forest workers who plow through the forest with heavy machinery, destroying vegetation and leaving deep scars compacting the ground.

Then the Ammer is reached, a swiftly flowing little river in this section, with crystal clear water. Unfortunately, only a small section remained in its natural state. A large part of the river was forced into an unnatural bed for flood protection reasons.

I quickly leave the rather sleepy-looking Unterammergau behind me, then I reach Oberammergau. On the way there, I only encountered a few people today - maybe because of the rain. But here, the tourists are bustling 😀. Why is that? I won't find out that day. In the late afternoon, it started pouring rain from the sky, but again, I was lucky not to get too wet!

Insight of the day: People on this earth are the same everywhere. If there is an 'attraction' to admire, they all gather at that place. A few kilometers further, it is quiet and almost deserted.
