On Sunday morning, we drove to Eglisau with Hofer's in the TR5 and Stöph on his Indian in the beautiful weather. The first oldtimer meeting took place!
After the bridge, we went to the town of Eglisau and already there it was necessary to queue up and wait. The organizers were really 'overwhelmed' with oldtimers and soon didn't know where all the vehicles should be parked.
We drove around and met Remo and Helga on the roadside. They had already parked their MG B. Get in and off we went! Just a few meters further, my mother was standing. So get in again and off we went. On the large parking lot at the beginning of the town, we were able to park our Bulli right in front of Hofer's TR under the trees. Perfect in the shade! And behind the tree, there was still room for the camping table and chairs. We first sat comfortably together with coffee and cake. Robert and Margrit from the TR Club also joined.
Then we went on a tour of the old town with the oldtimers, the small festival restaurant, and many visitors. Exciting to see all the vehicles there! We also met Gilberto and Claudia from the TR Club and all sat in the Vivi-Kola Bar on the Rhine and refreshed ourselves with Gazosa or beer. Stöph and Berni even dared to take a dip in the cool water afterwards!
Shortly before 2 p.m., the Corso started with about 200 vehicles, led by an old fire engine, to Glattfelden to the Riverside. But we went in the other direction to Rüdlingen to Caffè-Gelato Paulangelo and treated ourselves to a real Italian gelato!
A successful first event, this oldtimer meeting, and even nearby!
