08.03. Day 3: Lake Bled
Brushes parked at the Mercator supermarket. Then you cycle a few hundred meters down to Lake Bled, Slovenia's Lake Titisee. Apart from the island. This is by the way the only island in Slovenia. fact
It's cold, gray and foggy. There are a few hotels and the obligatory souvenir shop around the lake.
Actually nothing works here. In addition to me, there were perhaps 35 other visitors, including a school class (30 people) and a friendly employee from the municipality, who, however, cannot necessarily be counted as a visitor because he obviously works here. In the high season, Lake Bled is probably one of the most popular tourist destinations in Slovenia, as I was able to read during my research.
Also, I'm the only one here with a bike. Probably walking around the lake is only allowed. I must have overlooked the prohibition signs.
Normally it would take about 20 minutes by bike to cycle around the lake. (6km) But as a blogger you stop every few meters to take an even cooler photo and then it takes almost 2 hours.
Bohinj Lake:
Almost 30 km to the south-west is the Bohinjsko Jezero, in the Triglav National Park. The wild, mostly undeveloped banks, with many beautiful, bright pebble bays, make this place a special natural experience. The Bohinjsko Jezero catches me too.
Brush parked, then jog first. It's very windy, almost stormy. I almost feel like I'm on the Atlantic. The sun can also be seen for a moment and shows the wild waters from their most beautiful side. dreamy.
Here, too, there is a similar amount of activity as at Lake Bled, only without a school class. So 5 people including me. Actually perfect for such a place.
3rd lake:
You might think I'm doing a lake tour.
But I found this one by accident. But also a very nice sight and ideal for the 3rd night.
