Jacó is the complete opposite of Drake Bay. There is a lot more going on here, with many people out and about and plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops. We immediately felt at home, finally some civilization again ;)
As is often the case in Costa Rica, we spent a day at the beach. The others rented a surfboard and did pretty well :) I decided to pass for now because I'm glad that my scrape is finally healed, and knowing my luck I would have ended up with something new. I know myself. So next time, I'll be there again :)
On the last day, we went to Playa Blanca with Michi and Marco, to see a different beach. I'm not sure if we were in the right spot because it was not quite like I had imagined from the descriptions. But we've been to so many beaches already, so the wow effect is not as big anymore :D
My wow moment came in the afternoon when we walked to an abandoned hotel complex that the guys had told us about. Apparently, the investors pulled out at some point and the hotel was never finished.
The way there was really exhausting. It was hot and we were still tired from the beach, but it was worth the effort. When we arrived, we just thought 'wow, this is cool' - there was graffiti everywhere and a great view of the ocean and the sunset. And all of this for free :D
Unfortunately, we have to return our beloved rental car *sob* so the next stop is San José.
