Good morning Australia! After more than 30 hours, we have reached the country in the southern hemisphere. While temperatures of around 30 degrees are prevailing at home, we have a pleasant 12 degrees here at 8 o'clock in the morning.😉
After landing shortly before midnight local time and passing numerous checks, a nice taxi driver, whose nephews all live in Germany and drink mulled wine, brought us to the hotel.
After a short 4 hours of sleep, we went to the ferry to Rottnest Island early in the morning, where the little "rascals" live, the only place on the planet where you can observe the animals in the wild, they say..!
On the island, we set out on our bikes to search for the little marsupials, yes... we searched for a long time, the only ones we found at the end of the tour were near the only place on the island, why make it difficult when it's easy..?!
Oh yes, from the ferry we could observe dolphins (I think they were..🤨)
The sun is about to set at 5:?? pm, a beautiful sunny day with temperatures up to 20 degrees for a winter day.
Tomorrow we will continue north with the rented vehicle (let's see what it will be).
A lot of impressions for the first day, even if jetlag is still noticeable in some way, everyone agrees that Australia is something special... not just because they drive on the left here...🤨
