3:30 am and the night is over. Leo is awake and so are we. Fortunately, our grandson could stay in bed for another 2 hours, so we could shower, check out, and be at the train station at 7:10 am for check-in for the Panorama train to Wellington.
We had breakfast on the train, including a phenomenal view of many beauties of New Zealand.
The 11-hour train journey is much more comfortable than the one on the plane, the food is similar but expensive. However, the coffee was worth every penny.
Anyway, the view from the compartment or from the panoramic car is fantastic. Unfortunately, the last two hours in the darkness are not so exciting.
Immediately after arrival and picking up the luggage, we covered the last 500 meters to the hotel on foot. We had hardly settled in the room when we were already back at the harbor to take a little look around. At least we got some exercise.
