The day begins as always with a hearty breakfast, a game of Yahtzee, and a cup of coffee. I upload the Thailand video with a significant delay due to the poor internet connection.
We have to return the scooter today and combine the way back from the scooter rental with a walk through the tourist street - with a special focus on tattoo studios (I'm considering joining the trend and defacing my clear skin with poorly done ink). Additionally, we want to get an idea of how much a rain jacket costs here (if we can find one) - if you remember: I sent my old rain jacket home to friends in Thailand. Now that we are still traveling in New Zealand, unfortunately, I need a new one. So off to the mall, and to the western stores.
After a more or less successful search, we are now fully informed about the prices and don't buy anything at the moment. We continue the search in small local shops (only 100% original, of course, and unfortunately all tailored for Indonesians in XS) and in Carrefour - without success. But there are doughnuts again. We buy bacon and a pancake mix because we want to have a farewell breakfast with Ian and Lucy tomorrow morning. We go back home, but unfortunately, we realize that we are missing the bacon that Jonna had with her just a little while ago. So we stomp back the same way just to find the package behind a street corner on the ground - with tire tracks on and inside it. The bacon is still sealed, but it's pretty messed up.
It's evening and we try again to have burgers for dinner - this time it works. The burgers and fries are great, the water is free, and everything is very affordable (€5.30 for everything).
Back at Lucy and Ian's place, we sit down at the table and play Rikiki. We've infected Lucy so much with baking brownies that she baked some for us today. After playing all the games and choosing the winners, we chat a bit on the terrace. Then we go to bed and make a few video calls before going to sleep.
